"My name is Alton Midgett Jr. and I am Senior Pastor here at Westside. I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. During my adolescence, my parents were missionaries to Canada. We served two terms there before returning to minister here in the States. It was while ministering in South Carolina that I met my lovely wife Lisa and we had our two wonderful daughters Rachael Lyons (husband) Will Lyons and Rebecca Wright (Husband) Tyler Wright and (Son) Kase.
The Lord called me to preach as a young man. He has allowed me to hold the offices of Youth Pastor, Assistant Pastor, and Pastor. I served at Trinity Baptist Church in Williamston S.C. with Dr. James A. Norris and as Pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Anderson S.C.
God called my family and I here to Westside first as Co-Pastor with Dr. Melvin Payne and now as Pastor. I count it an honor to have had the opportunity to serve alongside Pastor Payne all of these years and am excited to see all that God has in store for Westside in the coming years. God is blessing this great ministry almost beyond belief. We can truly say, '…but with God all things are possible'.”
